Vapid Venus Ventures is a solo journaling game where you take on an epic project of planet terraforming, while also dealing with the massive tedium of downtime between missions. Your character is an astronaut with the Earth Engineering Enterprise, a company founded to colonize other planets in our solar system. Your contract is to deploy various terra forming machines in the planet Venus. Your employment is a mere year of a centuries-long mission. There is a lot of downtime between jobs. A LOT of downtime. Try to also keep a minimum amount of boredom with a minimum amount of entertainment. I hear trashcan basketball is the most popular sport on Venus. At the end of your engagement, you'll be debriefed, and have a series of personal and professional logs that shape both your character and the future of humanity in the solar system.

Hello! I hope you are doing well today! I just wanted to inquire about this game! I'm really intrigued by it and interested in its premise! However, I was wondering if you had more information about the actual gameplay mechanics of this game? I would love to be able to know a little more about it and how the game works. Thank you so much!

Hey, I am doing well, and hope you are too today!

For VVV, most of the focus is writing prompts with a bit of randomization. I put a screenshot that is hopefully legible enough below for an example.

First you make a character hand-in-hand with the in-game hiring process. This is extremely open-ended with encouragement to make any kind of character you want. This follows with a series of prompts like the screenshot to pick everything from your current mission to goodies delivered on a supply run. These randomized prompts should be repeated depending on the in-game timeline of your contract. Finally, there is a corporate survey to complete to sum up your experience for the bosses.

So mostly journaling with writing prompts. With a space setting that pokes fun at corporate culture, it started as a Mothership backstory generator that kind of morphed into its own thing once written with Mel. I hope you take the time to check this one out!

Best, Sean
